If you are a comic book artist who expresses his/her passion of comics as a writer, colorist, illustrator, letterer, painter or inker, then we want you! Just fill out the application below then copy it and paste it into an email sent to us!
What do you get if you join? Well a network of other artists at your finger-tips for starters. We have monthly meetings in many different locations such as Connecticut, New York City, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Texas, and Los Angeles!
Now you're thinking, "Well, that's all well and good but I don't live in CT or New York!" You can correspond with the group through email, our ComicSpace accounts, and the CAG Message Boards, as well as having your work on the site! You could be part of the CAG Annual, or have your work posted on our new webcomics division.
Joining CAG is very easy. In order to make it simple please use the following steps in the order they are given;
Step 1: cut and paste the CAG application, fill out the information and email directly to: evnsue96@msn.com, In the subject field of the email, please type (NEW MEMBERSHIP). It is very important that you fill out the information entirely. Please include the STATE AND TOWN you are from with your FULL NAME. If you do not have email or access to the Internet, fill out an application and mail it to: Susan Soares, 51 Willow Glen Circle, Warwick, RI 02889-8300.
Step 2: There is a $25.00 membership fee, which is expected to be paid upon receipt of the CAG application. Dues are collected annually and are reviewed in June and December, every six months. Membership dues can be paid via PayPal to; comicartguild@yahoo.com If you do not have paypal a check or money order made out to "CAG" can be mailed to: Keith Murphey, 133 Sillimanville Rd. Moodus, CT 06469.
Step 3: Your membership may take 2-3 weeks to process, but you will receive a confirmation email that the application and membership fee were received.
Step 4: Upon receiving approval into CAG you will be added to the main CAG mailing list for news on all chapter meetings and events. You are then at that point invited to attend meetings in your area (local chapter meetings are discussed on the Meetings page of this site). In addition, you may upload images to represent your work to our CAG Gallery moderator. Please follow the guidelines on the gallery page and email images to: caggallery@yahoo.com
WE UNDERSTAND THAT WE MEET POTENTIAL MEMBERS AT CAG MEETINGS AND CONVENTIONS, AND THAT A MEMBER MAY NOT FOLLOW THESE STEPS IN THE ORDER GIVEN. THESE ARE MERELY GUILDELINES TO HELP MAKE THE PROCESS OF JOINING AS CONVIENENT AS POSSIBLE.
If you have additional questions please direct them to our East Coast VP Shawnti Theirrien or our West Coast VP Phillip Clark.
We look forward to hearing from you.
