We will be having a social engagement on Saturday June 24th @ 6pm after the Big Apple Show. We will most likely meet outside the doors of the show at the Penn Plaza Pavilion and go out to dinner. Mark Mazz plans to be available for this meeting! Check out the show here.
The official Comicbook Artists Guild Tee-Shirt is now available to our
current membership. These custom tees were designed by our very own
Kirk Abrigo of Colburn Comics (www.bullaclothing.com) with an assist
from Keith Murphey and Mark Mazz. The CAG tees feature white shirts
with an all-new black CAG emblem and a light blue flourish. (See the
attachment for the exact logo treatment.)
Now available for $15.00 ($20.00 for non members).
All proceeds will be donated to the Comicbook Artists Guild publishing
fund for CAG#5.

Since this will be a VERY Limited Edition Tee shirt, please tell us
what size you would prefer and we'll fulfill your order accordingly.
The men's sizes tend to run smaller so the average 5' 10" male is an
XL. All sizes/orders need to be placed by June 21st, 2006. We will
be strictly adhering to this deadline so you need to order yours ASAP!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, some of you know that in order to keep the group going you have to pay your dues. We last agreed that dues would be collected every 6 months. Dues drives are in JUNE and DECEMBER. For people that paid 6 months ago, you are all set! For those who havent paid in over a year please make sure you pay your annual dues of $20.00.
See you next month!

Alot of good news has happened since the Comic-con!
Mark Mazz officially began his role as the CAG Creative director at the end of March! Mark comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Please see the press release here! He is currently collecting submissions for our new “Horrorthology” which is slated to be ready for distribution in September. If you are interested in putting something in the new book you may contact him directly.
Guild Works Publishing will be producing both the new “Horrorthology” and the next annual, CAG #5. GWP is a new company that will be tackling not only comic books but a wide variety of different projects including: video games, movies, tv, collectible card games, comic books, and trading cards. GWP’s services may include character design, concept design, logo design, computer color, custom comic books, custom trading cards, trading card games, DVD menu design, online and print style guides, text stories, and more.
The company plans to build an extensive list of clients for 2006/2007. More news on GWP will be posted in the months ahead.
The First CAG Jam poster was finally completed and is now being colored. The poster will be distributed in comic book shops this summer. The original is to be auctioned off and the proceeds are to be donated to Mocca. Plans for a second Jam poster are now underway.
Team CAG participated in the Comic Jam War on April 1st, 2006. CAG was one off hundreds of teams trying to complete an 8 page comic book story in 12 hours. To read about all the details please click here to read Scott’s Jam War report! Also we premiered the CAG JAM WAR documentary at the last NYC CAG meeting at MOCCA. We will be showing in again in May and June at the next two CAG meetings.

Speaking of CAG meetings, the May 27th CAG meet in Northampton has been canceled. The reason for this is that Dan Head of Proletariat comics has invited all of CAG and the comic book community in the immediate area to a BBQ: Hawaiian Luau style!
If you are interested in attending we are putting together of list of people that can take the train up or down and then drive over together. Please e-mail me if you can definitely make this event. The party starts at 1pm and you are encouraged to bring your portfolio or projects to share with other creators.
A new CAG logo is currently being designed by Rammer, Kirk, and Mark which will be utilized for promotions and CAG #5.
Quantum Creator (Phillip Clark) will be forming a new L.A. chapter of CAG. The meetings will be taking place at the “Comic Bug”. More info on this exciting new branch of CAG will be posted on the yahoo site.
Don’t Forget FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: MAY 6th, 2006!
